A few last words, for now…

????????????????????????????????????????It marks one year to the day that I published my very first post on Book Nerds Anonymous. Although at that time I wasn’t even a Book Nerd, I had no idea what I was really. I had a reading surge, devouring any book I could get my greedy little hands on. I seen blog after blog pop up and I thought I need to look into that. You can read my very first, non-post HERE. It was a quick hello as I was truly clueless.

From Winter to Spring I got into the swing of things and started reviewing. The funny thing was I thought it would be easy being a one woman show. It couldn’t be further from the truth. Over the last 12 months, our team at Book Nerds has steadily grown. Each girl that has joined, I am so lucky to have as a co-blogger and more importantly as a friend. My reading/blogging experience has been enriched. I love talking about different genres with Brianna, I can’t live without my late night chats with my fellow Brit insomniac Derna and then we have Kat and Stacy. I may guide you both in the blogging world but you both corrupt, I mean bring me out of my shell in the real world ;) I love you all and now we embark on a new adventure with three of our favourite book girls; Adriana, Bianca and Brittany. It is bitter sweet that we say goodbye to Book Nerds but it is with so much excitement that we say hello to Biblio Belles. Even before our official launch today, we have had overwhelming support. We are truly grateful. I take my hat off to the bloggers that continue to go it alone. After doing both, I now know a book hangover is better enjoyed with company. ♥

Writing this post is very bitter sweet. I’ve loved my time writing and reading for Book Nerds Anonymous. I’ve discovered some great new authors and books, and have loved sharing my opinions with all of you readers. I could not have picked a better place to start out my blogging journey, and I feel very lucky that Ava asked me to help her with this blog. She is undoubtedly an amazing co-blogger, and I’d like to thank her for asking for my help, and to be a part of this amazing journey that has allowed me to discover some awesome friends, books, and authors. So yes, I’m going to really miss this blog, because I loved being a Book Nerd! However, with the launch of BiblioBelles, we will still be bringing you all of our usual reviews and content, but there will be much more!! And we’ll be in a different place, with a few more awesome co-bloggers. Therefore, it’s a sad but exciting time for all of us at Book Nerds Anonymous, and I really hope you all follow us to our new, bigger blog, and keep on reading!

Derna with glasses

I have had such an amazing time since Ava asked me to join Book Nerds Anonymous. I have loved chatting to Ava on Kik about our love of books. Joining Book Nerds meant I was able to read and review so many great books. I have discovered so many new authors and made lots of amazing new friends, including my lovely co-bloggers old and new.

I am sad to say goodbye but I am looking forward to Book Nerds Anonymous becoming Biblio Belles where 5 book obsessed ladies become 8. It is going to be an amazing and fabulous blog and one that I am excited to be part of. I hope you continue reading not only my reviews but that of my 7 other crazy book loving bloggers.

kat1Today marks the sad day that I hand in my Book Nerd card. I would like to thank my dear Ava for inviting me to review for her blog. Without even knowing if I had any skills whatsoever, she was just happy to have me along. She gave me the freedom to say what I wanted to in my reviews and showed me the ropes. And even though I felt like I was constantly apologizing for asking so many questions, she never hesitated to answer them.

I never knew how much time reviewing and blogging actually took up, but from witnessing all of Ava’s hard work and the countless hours she put into her passion, I truly believe she is the wonder woman of blogging. I couldn’t have asked for a better teacher and even more importantly, a better friend. I love you to death, Ava!

I would also like to thank Derna and Brianna for accepting Stacy and I as newbies in the world of blogging. I can’t wait to continue to work with you girls as Belles.

For the readers and visitors of Book Nerds Anonymous, thank you for all the support. I hope you continue to follow our reviews on our new blog, Biblio Belles.

Stace4This whole experience has been so amazing for me. I would have never thought that this crazy obsession I have for books would turn into so much more. The friendships I’ve made will last a lifetime, and I am truly grateful for Ava being willing to give me a chance. And Derna and Brianna accepted Kat & I with open arms. We have now formed this wonderful little book family that now extends to 8. And I couldn’t be more excited to work alongside these wonderful women! Thank you to everyone who has supported us, and those who will continue to. I can’t wait for everyone to see the Biblio Belles!!!

Then Evan Bishop breezes into town with a warm smile and calming touch, and Archer can’t deny his attraction to him. Evan is the only person who keeps him around without a single string attached. Ava’s Review…

I gave Hushed 3.5 out of 5 Book Nerds????????????????????????????????????????

*I received an ARC from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.*

Hushed had caught my attention due to the fact is sounded so different from the New Adult titles available, romance wasn’t the main feature. Hushed was a story of suspense and intrigue. Archer and Viv have been best friends forever. But Archer is consumed with guilt as he failed to protect Viv when she was young and Archer has made it his mission for everyone involved to pay for their mistakes, consequences be damned.

Viv flits from one disastrous relationship to the next. Used and abused Viv shows little self preservation and longs for any attention she can get. Viv knows Archer is hung up on her, and she uses that to her advantage whenever she can. That is until new student Evan appears on the scene. When Viv realises she no longer has Archer’s undivided attention, this doesn’t sit well with Viv and she takes matters into her own hands.

I liked the original storyline, it was very different than what I have read, I didn’t get a ‘thriller’ vibe from the story, I wasn’t on the edge of my seat. I think the events were mapped out and they happened so matter of fact that I wasn’t surprised with what was to come. With that being said I did like the characters Kelley York created. I despised Viv immediately, she was a good character you loved to hate, it was obvious to everyone but Archer that he was being used and I did wonder if Viv genuinely cared for Archer as all her actions were for her own personal gain.

Archer being the main character, I did like. I didn’t sympathise with him or condone what he did. He was a confused boy, acting out of love for his best friend. When Evan walked into his life, he questioned everything he thought he knew and he also began to question his toxic relationship with Viv.

I really liked Evan, he was strong and confident and he went after what he wanted. I would have liked a bit more from his relationship with Archer, it just kinda happened quietly, it was sweet the way it played out but I would have loved to feel a deeper connection between the two.

The action kicked in at the end, Viv finally went nuclear, Archer came to his senses and felt remorse and Evan put his neck on the line for love. I felt the ending was realistic, I don’t think I would have been entirely happy if Archer got away Scot free. It definitely was an entertaining read that’s for sure.

Hushed is a fast paced, suspenseful New Adult story, I enjoyed Kelley York’s writing and the characters she created. If you are looking for something different. I recommend you try this one today.

Blog Tour – The Infamous Ellen James (The Infamous Series #1) by N.A Alcorn ~ Stacy’s Review and Giveaway

Available December 1

Meet twenty-eight year old Ellen James. A sarcastic, feisty, foul-mouthed ER Nurse. She is snarky, sassy, and sometimes crudely inappropriate. After a terrible breakup with her fiancé, Ellen has promised herself that she will never make the mistake of falling for another man again… and physicians, well she’s more than written them off.

Once she meets sexy Trauma Surgeon, Dr. Trent Hamilton, this promise is unbelievably hard to keep. This too-hot-for-Ellen’s-own-good man is undeniably sexy and down-right irresistible. He leaves her breathless, speechless, and irritatingly turned on. He makes her fantasize about him in all kinds of dirty, inappropriate ways.

With the help of her obnoxious, and often times hilarious best friend Amy, Ellen will find herself in several crazy, embarrassing situations.

This is a story of friendship, love and how one very sarcastic woman can find the strength to pick up the pieces after having her heart broken.

In her first novel, N.A. Alcorn provides interesting takes on the word vagina, while giving you a reason to re-think your next visit to the Emergency Room. This book is bound to make you laugh, smile, and provide you with enough sarcasm to choke your grandmother. No, N.A. doesn’t want anything bad to happen to your Grandma Ruth, but she does want you to strongly consider re-naming your vibrator after a guy who’s at the top of your spank bank rotation. Be prepared for dripping juice-boxes, awkward pelvic thrusting, and a little suspense to keep your snatch on edge.

Warning: This novel contains explicit sex, profanity and far too much vaginal humor. This novel is not meant for anti-fornicators, up-tight prudes, or virgins who refuse to go to Pound Town.

Stacy’s Review…

I gave The Infamous Ellen James 4 out of 5 Book Nerds????????????????????????????????????????

*I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.*

“The only thing that is holding me back is the fear I have.  The fear that I’m falling too fast.  The fear of letting myself jump head first and him not being able to catch me.”

There are so many highlights in my kindle from this book, and I’m sure most people are focusing on the funny parts when they read it, which I’m not gonna lie—are plentiful.  Like I was actually laughing out loud at numerous times while shaking my head at the same time thinking,  does this kind of shit actually happen?  Are people actually this raunchy and hilarious?  I’ve come to the conclusion that yeah, why not?   Either way, the story isn’t about the funny, It’s about Ellen James or Elle/Ellie which is what people affectionately call her.  As funny as Elle may be, I see her vulnerability and yearning for something bigger, and better.  She has a big heart, and a great inner dialogue which is what pulled me in.

Elle is an ER nurse who has sworn off men due to an ex who obviously burned her so bad that she believes there’s no point to relationships.  She has tons of fun with her crazy friend Amy who I just adored!  Amy is just as funny as Elle, but with the added bonus of extra bitchiness which always makes me happy.  These two have a great kinship and banter towards one another, which is hilarious.  But on a deeper level, their friendship is so true to life.  Amy truly wants the best for Elle, void of jealousy or the pettiness that you see in some female friendships.  So I really loved that.  Amy was always there regardless, whether she was cussing at Elle or hugging her!

“I’m going to walk in on you two fucking one day and there’s going to be honey mustard packets all over Elle’s bedroom.”  ~Amy  (trust me it’s funny, you’ll see)

Enter Trent Hamilton…  Super hot trauma surgeon brought in to temporarily take over for another Doctor’s practice in his absence.  The chemistry between Elle and Trent isn’t immediate for Elle at least.  It takes her a minute to figure out where she knows Trent from.  Which is another funny story.  For Trent, he knew he wanted Elle the minute he saw her, and he was even surprised by his own reaction.

“Every once in a while, someone will catch your eye.  Someone you can’t seem to get out of your head—a once-in-a-lifetime kind of girl.  A girl who makes you feel like a complete pussy for even entertaining the idea of love at first sight, and sometimes it takes you off guard so much that you might even have to reach down and make sure your balls are still intact.”

Like I said before, all funniness aside this story really has a good heartfelt deep side to it which was most endearing to me.  Trent is so sweet and likeable and yes he has an extremely dirty mouth, with just the perfect amount of smooth.  He is quite the “Casanova” as Elle calls him.  I really loved the relationship forming between these two characters, Elle is extremely quirky and off-the-wall weird!  Which I loved by the way.  And Trent compliments her perfectly, they have a great build up of angsty steamy HOT sexual tension that always seems present, even after the deed was done.  Which I think is kind of hard to do these days.  Sometimes when the first sex scene is over, so is the reader.   But not here, NA Alcorn does a great job of keeping you alive right along with the characters.

Of course there’s some drama, and worry and even some scary parts—yes scary that had me clinching and worried for Elle, but I knew that swoony Trent, and trusty Amy would be there to make everything better.  All-in-all this was a great debut novel.  It had a bit of everything, the love was sweet and real. And the raunchy, funny parts were REALLY there.  There is no cliffhanger, but there is a book two coming with my favorite girl Amy which I’m really excited about! So yeah, go read about Elle & Trent they’re super funny, cute and hot!

You really need to experience the “Hamiltonian Effect”… Yes, it’s a thing.

“I’m saying that you’re my woman, my only woman.  The woman I’m head over heels for.  The woman who’s got me tied up in knots and I love every fucking minute of it.  The woman who owns me.”

“I’ve never been ravaged and fucked so perfectly by any man before, and yet somehow, Trent manages to do this while still making love to me.  Because that is what Trent Hamilton is doing to me right now.  He is fucking and making love to me.  Fucking making love to me.  Making fucking love to me.  You get the idea.”

Ava’s Review…

I gave Crash into You 4.5 out of 5 Book Nerds????????????????????????????????????????

*I received an ARC from Harlequin via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.*

I loved Pushing the Limits, Noah and Echo remain my favourite couple but I was eager for Isaiah’s story, I knew he was hiding so much and couldn’t wait to find out.

Crash into You was a really entertaining YA story, there was action, suspense, love, humour and tears. I was not expecting it at all. My favourite part was Isaiah and Rachel, I loved their characters straight away and felt this protectiveness over them. Isaiah is trying to make it out of the foster system in one piece. He has a plan for leaving school and a job lined up, but people are out to ruin that for him. When Rachel comes crashing into his world, Isaiah knows she is far away from her rich neighbourhood he can’t help it but he steps in to protect her, from then on they have to fight together for their freedom and their future.

I really liked the car element of the story, maybe because I am a Fast and Furious fan, who knows, but it added something unique to the story. The fact Rachel was into cars as well made her stand out. She was very timid and shy but I loved to see her growth once Isaiah instilled confidence in her.

The romance between Rachel and Isaiah was so sweet, nothing was rushed and I loved they way in which it progressed. They were broken souls for different reasons and they completed each other. We got to know more about Isaiah’s background and the struggles he faced as well as learning about Rachel’s family. We learned money does not guarantee happiness or love.

I loved that we got to see Noah and Echo again, and even Beth popped up and Isaiah managed to resolve some things in order for him to move on. My favourite secondary character was Abby, she really stood out for me and I would love to read more about her one day!

Crash into You was a really enjoyable read. I love Katie McGarry’s writing, I find her characters endearing and I can’t help but love them. This story certainly surprised me at points and my heart was in my mouth with worry but I was left with a smile of content at the end. You should check this one out!

My favourite quotes:

“Rachel can’t like me because she doesn’t know me. The real me. For Rachel, life is still sunshine, rainbows and pink fucking fuzzy unicorns. I’m nothing but darkness, clouds and rats.”

“Rachel snuggles close, and I tighten my hold. I have a feeling tonight I’ll roll over in bed searching for Rachel, because this moment right here is the closest I’ve come to having peace in a long time.”

“But as Rachel presses tighter to me, I know I’m too far gone to stand a chance alone. I’m in love, fucking in love, and I pray to the God that abandoned me years ago that He doesn’t use this to destroy me. “I love you.”

“I can’t give you the world, Rachel, but I’ll give you all I got.”

When nothing in your life goes right … go left.

Tyler Johnston has a life that would be the envy of most twenty-somethings. He lives in New York City, surrounded by his closest friends, has a job in a field he loves, and remains unattached—able to flit from one lady to the next without responsibility. Only problem is, Tyler isn’t in his twenties anymore…

Having watched two of his best friends fall in love and start a family, Tyler is left wondering what will become of his life. So when life hands Tyler his happy ever after, he struggles with his conscience. Can something be right when it’s so very, very wrong? Because everyone knows that two wrongs don’t make a right. In fact, most of the time, they just make things a whole lot worse.

Wanting to know how to help her, I finally got up the nerve to speak again. “Everything okay, Half-Pint?” I questioned. Then, without thinking, I reached over and took her hand in mine. Her fingers fit between mine as if they were made to. My gaze fell to our hands and my heart skipped a beat in my chest when I realized that I liked how her skin felt on mine. I looked at her as she too stared at our entwined hands and bit down on her lower lip. I knew she felt it too. Silent moments passed before her blue eyes met mine again.

“No, everything’s not okay.” She pulled her hand from mine hastily while taking a deep breath. “But it will be.” She stood and tripped over one of the kids’ toys. I stifled my laughter and her face flushed again. I couldn’t help but smile in spite of myself knowing that she felt uneasy around me. “I think I’ll head to bed now. Thanks for the beers, Tyler.”

Derna’s Review…

I gave Imperfectly Real 4.5 out of 5 Book Nerds????????????????????????????????????????

*I received an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review .*

I was looking forward to reading this one as I had enjoyed the first book in the series Imperfectly perfect, which had been Emma and Shane’s story. It had been such a fun easy read, and the basis of the storyline of it had reminded me of one of my favorite shows New Girl.

Imperfectly Real is Tyler Johnston’ story, and one that I really enjoyed. I was surprised when I realized Tyler’s love interest was going to be Elizabeth, as I knew she was married, and therefore, any relationship that developed was not going to be drama or angst free.

“I can’t explain it, but when she’d walked back into my life she’d woken something in me that had been asleep for a long time –longer than I’d like to remember”~ Tyler

But the moment I saw you, I remembered what it’s like to feel. Being near you brings out things I haven’t felt in a long time. I feel like a woman again. ~ Elizabeth

I liked Tyler, such a sweetheart he did frustrate me a few times, but for the most part I found myself feeling sorry for him as he was definitely fighting between his head, and his heart when it came to all things Elizabeth.

“Deep down I knew everything about this was wrong. But if it was wrong, why did it feel so right”~ Tyler

Elizabeth is Emma’s little sister. I wasn’t too sure about her at the start, she did annoy me at times only because I didn’t like some of her decisions, but as her story started to unfold, I could understand some of them. I felt sorry for her as I could see she had issues, and was far from happy with the way she had let her life turn out.

“I was living the life my mother wanted for me, the one she handpicked for me. I never stood a chance. I never even knew what I wanted for myself”~ Elizabeth

By the end she had definitely won me over, with the way she had grown to become a much stronger person, was making her own choices, and choosing the life she wanted.

I enjoyed the storyline, it was a quick easy read, which kept me guessing till the very end. Tyler and Elizabeth have some highs and lows, there is drama, and angst, but it was also entertaining, sweet, and funny. I’m not a fan of cheating (as you know) but because of their childhood friendship, their connection, and their chemistry I couldn’t help but root for Tyler and Elizabeth.

“I wonder if anyone else noticed the sparks between us, because they felt out of control to me”~ Tyler

I can’t sleep. I don’t know much, Tyler, but I do know that I can’t stay away from you”  ~ Elizabeth

The story is mainly told in Tyler’s point of view which I really loved as it gave me an insight into his true feelings about Elizabeth. His struggles with his conscience about her being married, and how it could affect his friendship with Emma.

“Elizabeth was fire, and I was attracted to it like a moth- surely I would get burned” ~ Tyler

I like how A.E Woodward every so often added Elizabeth’s POV, it was always short, but there was an air of mystery about it, and I was very curious to find out what Elizabeth’s secret was, and my heart broke for Elizabeth when all was revealed.

I loved seeing Emma, Shane and Rob again I couldn’t really even call them secondary characters as they were such a big part of the story. You get to see what is happening in their lives especially Emma and Shane. What really comes across in this book, as with the first, is the friendship that Tyler, Emma, Shane, and Rob have. The banter and the interactions between them all were both funny and heartwarming at times. Tyler, Emma, and Shane really have a special bond as they have grown up together.

Overall I really enjoyed this book, I’m becoming a fan of A.E. Woodward, and her characters. I like her writing style, felt the story flowed well. It has an ending that you are going to love of hate, and personally I loved it as I felt it made sense to do it this way. I did smile to myself as I read the paragraph added after as it was like A.E know exactly what some of her readers would be thinking.

I can’t wait to read book 3 of this series, not only because at the end of Imperfectly Real A.E. Woodward gives you a sneak peek into Rob’s story “Imperfectly Bad’, but because I know that we will be getting more from Tyler, Elizabeth, Emma and Shane.

Definitely a series I recommend you add to your TBR list.

Ava’s Review…

I gave Finding Willow 3.5 out of 5 Book Nerds????????????????????????????????????????

*I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.*

“No more drugs. No more alcohol. No more porn. No more Blue. Over and over again, I wish away everything I never want again. I will get healthy. I will reclaim my life. I will be everything I never thought I could be. And I will do it all on my own.”

I enjoyed book one, Hers, so I was eager to learn more about Seven’s best friend Star and what she had been through. Star’s life was spiralling out of control and with the reappearance of a monster from her past she decides it’s time to sort her life out. Although Star hates the thought of returning to her home town, it is something she needs to do. She just didn’t bargain on meeting River and Chrome, two brothers that would completely change her life.

River befriends Star straight away and although he is younger, their friendship works. Star needs people in her life that don’t want money, sex or drugs from her. River spots a broken soul like himself and they become fast friends. Chrome on the other hand barges into Star’s life and there is no choice, their attraction is undeniable and the two of them together is just plain hot!

I really enjoyed the storyline, I liked to discover Star in a new light, she was more than a doped up porn star, she really did want to make something of her life but she hadn’t dealt with her past and there was no escaping the events of what happened. It was great to see Star grow in strength and in confidence.

I really like Dawn Robertson’s writing, it is easy to get into and the sex is hot, Chrome is one hot Alpha biker. I wanted to know more about him though, we just touched the surface of every character, not really getting a good insight into them and I would have fallen head over heels for Chrome if we got more.

There are two really big events to do with Star’s past, one confrontation was shocking and I didn’t see it coming. The other was heart warming and I’m glad Star got what she wished for, my only trouble was that both scenes were over far too quickly. There was no time to really process the events or give them the attention they deserved. Especially at the end, for it to be believable to me a bigger time frame was needed. This was a short story of 168 pages, there was so much to fit into these pages, I feel it could have been double the length and we could have explored Star and her situation further. With that being said, I did love the story and the potential it has.

Although Chrome and Star’s relationship went at a really fast pace, I loved them both and they gave each other what they didn’t know they were missing so I was all on board! “Just as I am about to drift off, he places a kiss on my forehead and whispers into my ear, “Goodnight, my angel.”…we drift off to sleep together. Wrapped in each other’s naked limbs, without a fucking care in the world.”

I’m glad Seven made an appearance and the former best friends/lovers are trying to get their friendship back on track. Seven as always is hilarious and says it like it is; “I never thought I would see the day when this porn star bitch could put together a fucking Martha Stewart holiday. I think Hell has just froze over.”

If I got more character development, slower pacing and more depth to the pinnacle point of the story, this would have been a 5 star read for me without a doubt. I really enjoy Dawn Robertson’s writing and the characters she has created so I can’t wait to see what the future brings. Check out finding Willow for yourself today!

BWF Review Tour

Release Date: December 3, 2013

Sometimes, one dark moment is all it takes to turn your world black…

For 24-year old Dominic Kinkaide, that moment took place on the night of his high school graduation. One dark incident changed him forever. He’s a hardened actor now, famous in the eyes of the world, but tortured in his own. He doesn’t care about much of anything, except for losing himself in the roles that he plays.

23-year old Jacey Vincent doesn’t realize how much her father’s indifference has affected her. She is proof that sometimes it isn’t one specific moment that wrecks a person, but rather it’s an absence of moments. She’s like a bird with a broken wing-strong yet fragile, as she tries to float through life, finding acceptance in the arms of random guys, one after the other… to fill the void that her father left in her.

Until she meets Dominic.

After jaded Dominic and strong-willed Jacey are thrown together, his secret and her issues create a dark and damaged energy that will soon turn their attraction to each other into an explosive storm.

Even though when the clouds have cleared and the dust has settled, both of them are almost obliterated… they’ve learned a priceless lesson.

Sometimes, before we fall… we fly.

Derna’s Review…

I gave Before We Fall 5 out of 5 Book Nerds????????????????????????????????????????

*I received an ARC from the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.*

There is nothing I love better than starting a book from a series that I have loved, and being surprised by where the author is taking the next book. I could tell from the first chapter that this storyline was going to be different, slightly more darker and sexier than the first two books in the series.

“I’m Dominic fucking Kinkaide and nothing bothers me. Nothing touches me, because I wont let it”

Dominic Kinkaide or Kinky Dom as I liked to refer to him while reading this book was definitely different from Pax and Gabe, and I have a feeling that I’m not going to forget Dominic in a while. One night from Dominic’s past not only changed him, but also shaped the way he now lives his life, and the choices he makes.

“I never talk about my past or anything at all about me, but women can still sense that I’m fucked up. What they don’t understand ….is that I’m unfixable”

‘You’re jaded. And dark. And something has hurt you badly, something in your past. You think you’re alone all alone and you’re tired of everything” ~ Jacey

Dominic was such a complex character I went from not liking him one minute to loving him the next, and back again. He is broken, has his walls up, and never lets anyone get close.  Has a dark side, he is arrogant, full of himself, yet when he wants to be he can be a sweetheart, romantic, protective and funny and lets not forget to mention kinky ;)

“I like Kinky things. Dirty things. Is that a problem?”

Jacey Vincent has had a troubled past, I saw a different side to her in this book, she had changed, She is trying to fight her own demons and is slowly winning, and I couldn’t help but admire her.

“I got myself into the worst situation because of my bad judgment. But all of these things are issues that I’m working on.“

I’m working on myself and I’m not going to settle for anyone less that the perfect person for me. Someone who values me and won’t push me around. That includes you”

There is something unique about their relationship; I like the dynamic of it and them. I felt from the beginning that fate kept throwing them together. These two were meant to be and I was rooting for them. I loved what Jacey tries, and ultimately did to, and for Dominic. I enjoyed watching the way their relationship played out, their attraction, their denial, their sexual tension, their chemistry, their passion, their hurt, their honesty, their transformation and their healing. Loved it all!!

“I’m not sure what it is about her that fascinates me so much, whether it’s the fact that she doesn’t give a shit who I am or whether it’s the fact that she doesn’t try to hide who she is”

“There’s something between us…and I know you can feel it too. We have the opportunity for something real, Dom even though we’re pretending that we don’t, we really do”

The storyline is emotional, its deep, and dark, with plenty angst, with a few twists along the way and lots of sexy hotness. Told from both Dominic and Jacey’s POV, which as always I love. Courtney Cole writes their points of view in such a way that it made me feel, and connect to both Dominic and Jacey, their emotions, all of them happy, sad or painful were my emotions too. They both broke my heart at times.

“There’s so much more to Dominic Kinkaide than anyone knows. I can feel it”

“Don’t love me…or I’ll break you. I wont want to, but it will happen” ~ Dominic

“I know its stupid to say. But his gaze is that intense. It’s like he can see inside of me, deep into my most private thoughts into where my secrets lie.”

Loved the secondary characters such as Dominic brothers Sin and Duncan and also Joe from the gym.  I have to talk about Brand who is Jacey’s brother and Gabe’s best friend .I fell in love with him in ‘If You Leave’, and after reading this one, I still loved him if not more. There is just something about him (I love men with muscles) he is a sweetheart. I said this the last time, and I’m going to say it again Courtney Cole this man is so worthy of his own book, I would even be happy with a novella…No no no!!! Forget that, no novella I have just changed my mind Brand needs his own full book. PLEASE!!!

Overall ‘Before We Fall’ was a brilliant read, and I have to say my favorite in the series. Courtney Cole has done it again, and it’s safe to say that Dominic and Jacey’s story pulled me in from the start. Beautifully written, I laughed, I cried and most of all I felt. I loved the prologue, loved the ending, and Wow! I just loved the epilogue.

So I only have one last thing to say go 1- click this book on December 3rd, and while your there 1-click the other books in the series if you haven’t read them already. You will not be disappointed.

Until We Burn (Beautifully Broken #2.5)

UNTIL WE BURN is a novella intended to introduce Dominic Kinkaide, to enhance the reading experience of BEFORE WE FALL. Please note that because Dom’s lifestyle is wild, this novella contains graphic content and adult material.

Young man with perfect facial hair and sensual lips of a lady

Dominic Kinkaide does bad, bad things.

As a 24-year old actor with the world on a string, not many women tell Dominic no. In a life where no doesn’t exist, he stretches the boundaries between what is right, what is wrong and what is downright depraved. Dark and damaged, Dom wants no commitments.

He wants no attachments.

He only wants to disappear into the taboo, into a place where he feels something.

But when the aching need to disappear into the darkness is the only thing he has left, Dominic flounders. In a world that is hollow and sexual, without a guiding light or a reason to breathe, Dominic is lost and broken. He knows he’ll never be fixed. So he makes a decision.

If he’s going to hell, he might as well make it worth it.

Derna’s Review…

I gave Until We Burn 4 out of 5 Book Nerds????????????????????????????????????????

All I can say is wow!! Until We Burn was a great way to be introduced to the crazy antics and the mind set of Dominic Kinkaide, and it certainly leaves an impression.

“No one controls Dominic Kinkaide. Not anymore. I don’t have a heart left to control”

Dominic may have a great public image, but it’s just an act. He is one seriously messed up kinky person who is an arrogant, cold-hearted asshole. But, as his story slowly started to unfold you could see that he is just going thought the motions, and all is not what it seems. You get some hints that something from his past has left him damaged, and broken and the reason why he acts the way he does.

“None of them, not one will ever see the real Dominic Kinkaide. In fact I’m not even sure that he exists anymore.”

I love this little sexy novella from Courtney Cole, it doesn’t pull any punches and doesn’t disappoint.  I love the way she was able to get me to dislike and love Dominic all at the same time.

You don’t have to read Until We Burn before you read Before We Fall, but I’m glad I did as it increased my eagerness to want to read Before We Fall and find out the answers to questions I had.
